Emergent Literacy and Numeracy Program

We have an exceptional emergent literacy and numeracy program for all children that prepare them with strong foundations for their future schooling, designed by our university trained primary school and early childhood teachers. There are many steps to successful literacy and numeracy development; singing/rhyme, being able to hear and pronounce beginning sounds and phonemes (sound parts), acquiring early pre-literacy and pre-numeracy concepts through play, engaging with opportunities and inspirations to speak and listen a love for books are some of them! We encourage our children to love literature and have a parent library and reading program that connects with holistic and child centred literacy learning to support this language acquisition. Developing literacy and numeracy through play-based approaches and also intentional teaching is embedded in our practice.
